Writing Feedback / News media have become more influential in people's lives. [2]

In recent times, news media plays a crucial role in shaping people's behavior and thoughts. While many people argue that this growing influence has negative effects on society, I believe that this trend provides both merits and drawbacks, and its impact largely depends on how individuals engage with it.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why the growing power of the news media can be negative. The main reason is the development of misinformation on the Internet. This is because some online platforms and newspapers focus on shocking or sensational stories to attract attention. As a result, many individuals, especially the older generation, actually believe this inaccurate news which they access and can lead to worry and stress when updating these information. Another reason is that people who spend too much time following the news may become addicted and waste time instead of focusing on their work or personal life. Instead of studying, working, or spending time with family, they may waste hours scrolling through endless news updates.

On the other hand, I strongly believe that the media also brings some important benefits for residents. Firstly, it is a good way to unwind and comprehend some well-informed and educational values. This means social media offers a lot of news and updates what is happening worldwide. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the media played a vital role in providing health guidelines and vaccination campaigns, which saved millions of lives. The second reason is that the media raises people's awareness of social and environmental issues, such as climate change, poverty, or gender inequality. For instance, international news coverage of global warming has encouraged many young people to join environmental movements and demand change from governments. Thanks to this, people can take action or support positive changes in society.

In conclusion, although there are some negative impacts of media influence, there are also clear advantages. I believe the effect of news media depends on how people use it. If individuals choose reliable sources and limit their exposure, the media can be more helpful than harmful.
