Undergraduate / "my pencil case" - Barnard's supplement, [3]

Prompt:
Please describe a daily routine or tradition of yours that may seem ordinary to others but holds special meaning for you. Why is this practice significant to you?

One of the things that I have to do every night before bed after putting all my school books into my book bag is organize my pencil case. When I arrange my writing utensils, I have to make sure that all the points are facing the same direction. I hate having a wide assortment of erasers and points because it is an eyesore. It only takes a few moments of my evening to tidy everything up and when I'm finished, the uniform look always makes me feel at peace. Nothing is out of place and taking those few minutes to line up the pencils and pens also serves as a way to clear my mind. Sometimes in school, if I'm having a bad day, I will purposely take a few moments to reorganize my pencil case.
