Undergraduate / Running as the mental challenge - common application short answers feedback/edit [4]

common application's extra-curricular activity short answer in less than 150 words. Mine is on running.
I'm at 151...!!>.< Is that okay? Or are admission officers really really strict on that limit?

Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences in the space below (150 words or fewer).

I started running when I found out about my abnormally high heart rate. I didn't exactly enjoy running, but I persisted for the sake of my health.

As I soon found out, running is not just about stamina; it's about mental endurance as much as physical strength. When I feel out of breath or overwhelmed by fatigue, only by sheer mental strength could I focus, calm down my rhythm, and urge my body to go on. With this discovery, I started to push myself both physically and psychologically. Soon I started to love the mental challenge that running poses, and my ability to focus is noticeably improved in daily tasks. I've developed a stronger heart and a tougher mind.

Now, I can't picture my life without running. It made me realize how much potential I possess if I only persevere. I hope to cultivate this potential in my life's deepest commitments.
