Essays / How to improve the vocabulary I use on essays for proficiency level? [5]

in 20 days I am going to take exam for the proficiency certificate of English language. the problem is that in my writings i use very simple and of lower level worlds which make my essay inappropriate for passing this exam. what should i do? thank you
