English is my second language, and my history teacher commented my research paper that there is serious problems in language and very poor grammar.
I am so confused,because my english teacher actually likes my essay. Can anyone help me check my first paragraph to see if there is any serious problem?

The first red scare which refers to the fear of communism during 1919 to 1921 is a self-directed farce owing to the hyper patriotism and the misleading of government. The fervent patriotism and nationalism still haunted America after World War I. On the other side of earth, Russia finished the Bolsheviks Revolution and the communism overthrown the royalty with bloody murdering. Leading by A. Mitchell Palmer, the current attorney general, a campaign against communists, socialists along with aliens was launched. An alarm was spread in the country. People were arrested without warrant or evidence. Another interpretation of the red scare is the "red menace" to the American democracy.
