Undergraduate / FSU - Leadership to the Extreme [2]

This is just my start, so let me know what you think of this as a basis for the rest. The essay may only be five hundred words in length, and the topic is:

Florida State University is more than just a world-class academic institution preparing you for a future career. We are a caring community of well-rounded individuals who embrace leadership, learning, service, and global awareness. With this in mind, which of these characteristics appeal most to you and why?

My freshman year was a time spent finding myself. I wasn't yet sure where my niche was in high school, and the time went by agonizingly slow. I felt myself without a purpose, and I wandered aimlessly through different activities, never feeling quite at home. However, sophomore year a fire was kindled within me that has grown from a mere ember into a blazing flame, igniting those around me with a similar passion. Leadership was my niche. At long last, I had found where I truly belonged: as a leader, guiding my school into being the utmost it could be. I took on leadership positions in every facet of my life that I could, never turning down a position despite protests that perhaps it was too much, merely because I reveled in the challenge. I enjoyed balancing my academic rigor with my ability to lead others into overwhelming success.
