Undergraduate / UPenn Short Essay - Life is like a piano [3]

Introduce yourself to Penn. Our aim is to better understand how your identity, talents, and background guide your day-to-day experiences. (approx 150 words)
"Life is like a piano, what you get out of it depends on how you play it." This meaningful quote by American pianist Tom Lehrer teaches people that life must be learnt. No one plays perfectly from the start as it takes time and effort to perfect a beautiful piece, with all its technicalities and emotions. Playing the piano since I was four has shaped my life and given me the strength to overcome adversities. Long hours of practice have moulded me to become meticulous and passionate in my work. Conveying musical dynamics has also allowed me to have greater control over my emotions, enabling me to make better judgements and decisions.
The journey in life is akin to playing the piano: hitting the wrong notes is inevitable. However, with practice and patience, the right notes will be hit more often, and the music produced will be pleasant for all to hear.
