The issue of whether we should attempt to save endangered animals from extinction or not is certainly a contentious one. Despite the undeniable cost of money and resource it may brought to in protecting them, I would argue that they should be preserved. There are two principal reasons for this.
First of all, it is vital that we appreciate the importance of endangered species in maintaining the balance of nature. The disappearance of any species may negatively impact on other plants and animals by breaking the food chain. For example, the crops maybe definitely destroyed because of vanish of frog, since the species of insect feed on crops would never find their natural enemy. Therefore, losing even one kind of species may result in great loss to both nature and human.
Further and even more importantly, though, the pollution produced by industry and human activities dramatically contributes to destroying the natural habitat of endangered animals. Unclean water, poisonous air and less rainforests make animals hardly to survive. Furthermore, some people crucially kill animals illegally, just as recorded in the documentary called The Cove. Clearly, we human are responsible for making them endangered.
Admittedly, preserving endangered species may not have any practical value in the short term. Moreover, it is costly for governments and organizations to keep them existing. However, in the long term, people will benefit from the diversity of species which make the world wonderful.
By way of conclusion, I once again reaffirm my opinion that it is valuable to preserve endangered animals. Besides, different countries and organizations should make worldwide cooperation to keep the species diverse.
