Undergraduate / 'Inhale. Exhale.' - personal statement [NEW]
Inhale. Exhale.
Strength, power, and determination were filing up the room from the tall dark man's energy. The cotton suit fit around his broad shoulders perfectly without a wrinkle while the black belt dangled down from his hips showing his abilities to defend the human kind. Although he has been exercising and yelling to improve the students abilities not a single drop of sweat was visible. A straight face with big brown eyes gazed down at me. As soon as his eyes hit me, I knew I only had two things that would help me: myself, and the padding. I could be seen from miles away of how much padding I was carrying. Knowing that size and talent was against me, I had to give it my all. I was half his size and half his weight but more determined than ever. Everyone thought to themselves "there is no way she would be able to beat him."
I knew I had support from my family and that was very important to me. Having doubts from everyone was not going to change my positive mind set to fight against the one that taught me everything I knew. Feeling courageous, strong, and determined more than ever I was ready to give it my all. 1,2,3, go! This was my time to shine.
We were both in fighting stance waiting to see what would happen first. All I could remember were a bunch of punches and kicks being thrown at me. Of course, I defended myself. I might of not hurt him but I was able to protect myself.
The moment after we finished I realized that although everyone is doubting me I am strong enough to get through many obstacles. I am capable of many things and if I am not I am willing to learn and go outside of my comfortable zone. Making mistakes is not always bad as long as you learn from them.
