Writing Feedback / Dallas- the town you were raised in... [NEW]

-discuss the town you were raised in how has it and the people in it help develop certain traits in you-

it is not finished. does anyone have any idea on what i could add
Growing up I lived in a lot of different places. My personality today reflects the town of Dallas Texas, Inglewood and Tulare California. Some of these places altho not the best neighborhoods had a good impact on me. Living in Dallas was a good experience especially at the age I was in. Because English was not my first language when I first arrived in Texas I was pulled out of 3rd grade and placed in a 2nd grade class. My teachers where very supportive about my situation and the students where actually interested in learning. My English improved vary fast and I felt confident about what I did. There was never any negativity around me in school but going home was another story my cousin was never very supportive and always said how I did nothing in school. I think this is what made me want to do even better in school because his negativity encouraged me to prove him wrong.

From Texas we moved to Inglewood because the majority of our family lives there. My mom was able to get a job working at a foster home for kids with special needs. She was never home, worked night shifts and when she was home she slept . I didn't like being home alone so I spent most of the day at friends houses or with my cousins. Nothing seemed to mater when I lived in Inglewood everything was taken day by day and the desire to fit in made school a smallest priority. I did my homework but I stayed after school because it was the only way I wold get it done. I sometimes helped the kinder garden teachers with grading and with the student to keep busy and because I liked to help. I had good friends in Inglewood Stephanie and Nataly but like me school was not something they really cared about. I have gone back to Inglewood recently and seen how my old friends where doing and it was not good they are both into smoking, drinking and popping pills. Seeing them like that is very disappointing altho Stephanie was never good when it came to school she was a really good girl with a great personality and I would have never thought she wold turn out like this. I was sad when I left Inglewood but looking back I see that it was for the best I may not be at the top of my class but I wold have probably dropped out if I had stayed in Inglewood.

I moved to Tulare about 8 years ago and from the start I did not like it one bit and i still don't but being here has kept me out of trouble and focused in school. I have become a better student with the help of a few teachers. I have also learned that I never want to live in a place like this and that to get out yo have to make something of yourself
