Computers have found their way into all spheres of life that the world without them is unimaginable. The versatility and complexity of computers have fascinated me ever since my childhood. My venture into the world of computing started with learning programming languages like C and C++. During my high school tenure, I was able to program the "TIC TAC TOE" game. This was my first taste of success in practical programming applications which propelled me to pursue an advanced degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
During my undergraduate study in Computer Science and Engineering at the ( ) I have been able to utilize my analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve top grades in challenging courses like Numerical Methods, Discrete Mathematics and Theory of Computation. Specialized areas in Software Engineering, Databases and Networks have been my strengths. My dedication and hard work have helped me not only to maintain an aggregate of 87% in my undergraduate till date but also to be within the top 3% of the students in my class.
Over the past two years, my penchant for research burgeoned in the fields of Networking and Computer Security. I have developed a working model of the KERBEROS (an authentication protocol) for mobile banking which was well acclaimed by the lecturers and the Head of my department. This project strengthened my practical knowledge in JAVA, HTML and Object oriented programming. My burning desire and the potential for research have been identified by my professors and I have been chosen to lead a team of three for my final year research project entitled "ROBOTIC MONITORING AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM". I have been successful in developing a working prototype model which is under testing and evaluation.
I am a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and have actively participated in various technical workshops and conferences conducted by the Computer Science and Engineering schools in my country. These presentations and discussion sessions have inculcated strong interpersonal and communication skills and have enabled me to keep track of the latest trends and emerging technologies in the field of computing.
My goal in life is to implement my knowledge and computing skill set as a full-fledged research professional in one of the prestigious and leading institutions in United States of America. An immediate step towards my goal would be to pursue Masters Program in Computer Science to enhance and sharpen my practical implementation skills. The excellent projects going on at your research department in the field of Networking, System Security and Databases along with distinguished faculty make your school the ideal choice for my advanced graduate study. I am confident of my technical and interpersonal management abilities and would appreciate the opportunity to be considered for the graduate program in your esteemed school.
