Florida State University is more than just a world-class academic institution preparing you for a future career. We are a caring community of well-rounded individuals who embrace leadership, learning, service, and global awareness. With this in mind, which of these characteristics appeal most to you and why?

From a young age, I've always had a calling to service. It didn't take long for me to discover my innate need to do something greater than myself. My wide-eyed, naïve childhood-self took on projects and causes far too big for one child. Often, my ideas were shot down by adults, and I was repeatedly told that I couldn't make a difference. This never stopped me, however. As I grew into a young adult my passion for helping others only increased. I began to dedicate more and more time to causes I was passionate about. As I begin to prepare for adulthood, I feel as though attending an institution as prestigious as Florida State University is the next step in answering my call to service, where I can pursue a career in the medical field.
