Boston University: In no more than 250 words, please tell us why BU is a good fit for you and what specifically has led you to apply for admission.
BU offers a number of important elements that are fully aligned with my college goals. As a person with a multi-ethnic background who has traveled extensively, BU's diversity is very important to my college experience. Furthermore, BU's active student body ensures me that with my interest in soccer, the environment and much more, I will continue to thrive in the high-performing atmosphere of Boston University.
Since I intend to study business and international affairs, BU's study abroad programs will guarantee I am fluent in the language of business. BU will empower me to embrace other cultures and thrive in challenging situations. My volunteer work in the U.S. and India has provided me with practical work experience. I am attracted to BU's emphasis on internships as a supplement to classroom learning. I want to learn with my head and my hands and I know BU is uniquely poised to provide me with a one of a kind education.
I am also impressed by BU's research capacity. I have conducted my own independent tree inventory project in my hometown. I champion and value research that can inform social and political change. Furthermore, in college, I want to specifically study how social media affects political change, especially in the case of the Arab Spring.
In sum, BU will be my home. A home where my differences are relevant, my love of learning is nurtured, and my cultural fluency is enhanced. I look forward to the opportunity.
