and my essay
If I am admitted to Rutgers University, I can bring something that nobody has ever brought, I can bring myself. I bring my personality, ideas, experiences, talent, and my opinions. Coming from the background I am from, I am perfect for the diverse community of Rutgers. Ever since I started school, I have met all kinds of people from all kinds of cultures and backgrounds. Attending Rutgers, however, will only further enhance my knowledge of other backgrounds and cultures. After attending the Rutgers bus tour, I received a small preview of just how diverse Rutgers is, and I love it.
Meeting new people and learning about them is one of the greatest experiences a person can have. I love getting to know people. When I joined my track team, getting to know all the wonderful people on it was a privilege. Now, as captain of my track team, I still get to meet new people, whether competing against them or just having a conversation with one. I plan on continuing running whether on the Rutgers team or intramural.
My whole life I have participated in a charity called, "Friends of Special Children", where we have a picnic for those who are mentally disabled. When I get a chance to talk to some of them, I always appreciate it. Just getting to know what they've gone through and how far they have come, it's a real pleasure.
Traveling to Ireland also opened up my mind to a whole new spectrum of people. Having been in America my whole life, traveling to another country let me experience new people, and new ideas. The folks there are nothing like how they are here in America. It only took me a few moments to get used to them, and I could not help but love being there. Also, traveling to Washington D.C. and Orlando, Florida, has made me realize just how diverse every city can be. Having students from all over attend Rutgers has made it extremely appealing to me. I am fascinated with variety.
The high school that I currently attend has many similarities to Rutgers University. One is both schools have a wide range of diversity. Whenever I am walking in the halls, I notice people from all over the world, with all kinds of backgrounds. As a result of the diversity, my friends are extremely diverse. No two are even close to being similar. So, if I am admitted to Rutgers, I will welcome the diversity with open arms.
Attending Rutgers will give me a chance to people who share my interests. I am obsessed with sports, and my life revolves around them. Meeting somebody who shares those interests is almost a certainty. Also, I'm sure I will be influenced by people. It is an exciting thought, that I can meeting people just like me, and also meet people nothing like me, and be best friends with them. That is the beauty of diversity.
After participating in a bus tour of Rutgers, I received a glimpse of just how diverse it is. I was immediately smitten and I wanted more. Attending a diverse university is one of my musts in looking for a college, and Rutgers is one of the most diverse universities in America. I will feel right at home in such a diverse community. My background and experiences have bred me to attend such a vibrant community. I plan on meeting people who complete opposites of me, and people who are almost my doppelganger. I will contribute as much as I can to Rutgers because I will be benefitted beyond belief from the university. Becoming a Scarlett Knight will be a match made in heaven.
