Graduate / SOP; "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up"-DNA &molecular biology techniques [6]

Hello;
I want to apply today or tomorrow, I spent much time on my SOP, but I am not perfectly in Grammar. PLEASE help me to fix my SOP and give me your opinion.

Explain your background, goals, what you expect from the program???

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time". The above philosophy has played an important role in the shaping of my objectives and framing of my plans for the future. My inquisitive nature in recombinant DNA technology and molecular biology techniques have made me persistent enough to excel at any endeavor which I believe it creates the compassion and commitment to biomedical branch and will drive me through the years to come. During my study at ,,,,,,,,,,, as an undergraduate student in Biology and Biotechnology, I realized that I have a great proclivity toward cellular and molecular field, so I believe that my passion and ability to work independently will help me in joining master program in cell and molecular biology and becoming successful researcher. Understanding life and cellular processes at the molecular level captivated my attention especially as new insights into the basis and treatment of numerous human diseases. On the other hand, I believe that challenges have always motivated me to achieve the best, I tried to overcome different obstacles that hindered my GPA to accurately represent my capacity

My interest in biological science has begun since my childhood. I was raised in a family that works in herbal plant nurseries. I learned how to do crafting of vegetables on disease-resistant rootstocks that minimize problems caused by flooding, soil-borne diseases, and root-knot nematode, laying the foundation of my academic future. This fascination became stronger when I joined undergraduate program in biology and biotechnology. Reading Campbell biology book for Reece and Campbell during undergraduate courses opened new windows on the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis as well as learning how these interactions are regulated. I was drawn to the function of DNA and how this macromolecule replicates, repairs and expresses itself in such a complex and organized manner. Moreover, I engaged in rigorous coursework in immunology, cell biology, animal and plant cell culture, and analytical chemistry that have steadily steered my career path. Exploring the location and concentration of ions and molecules within living cells and subcellular organelles, and even the forces exerted by the cells on their surrounding have given me a great foundation for my career objectives. Beside of the fields of molecular genetics, antibiotics and drug development, I am also interested in the role of environment on gene expression. Owing to my predisposition towards this field I volunteered in microbiology labs at the university in preparing culture media and preparing chemical experiments for freshmen students.

In the last year, I got the opportunity to do my first full research experience which solidified my desire to attain master program.The objective of this project was to examine the anti-inflammatory properties of black seed through measuring the expression and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-a, and the inducible nitric oxide synthase in human monocytic (THP-1) cells, and thus it can be used as anti-inflammatory based Drug. Results suggest that black seed exerts anti-inflammatory effects probably through the suppression of TNF-a and iNOS expression. Although I was not be able to obtain good grades during years of undergraduate study owing to certain personal financial circumstances and political conflict, I was Fortunate to win... in undergraduate for scientific research for year 2009. Under the guidance of ,,,,,,,,, I had a complete freedom to execute and design my research, and I devoted most of my entire time on this research. In this project, I learned Cell Culture process, Flow Cytometry to diagnose health cells and sort them based on their properties, and MTT test. Then,I recognized that understanding the complexities of these inner cell processes is inevitable to develop pure treatment.

In subsequent years working in Central veterinary laboratory as a technician, I developed skills in molecular techniques like PCR and Immunological techniques like ELISA, flow cytometry. At the same time, , I had intensive job in herbal plant nurseries in weekends that has been both enabling and enriching my knowledge in benefits of herbal plant and using of plants for medicinal purposes. I believe that diversity in experience and knowledge will guide me to better understanding of drug development for various genetic diseases.

Two years later, I moved to USA to achieve my education goal, and thus I saved money for Master program. At ,,,,,,,,,, I took ESOL intensive English program and undergraduate courses to get ready and work on fulfilling the language requirement for a master degree, and now I am on honor list. Currently, I enrolled in anatomy, psychology and physiology courses to increase my experience and to be well prepared for master program in Fall or Summer 2014.

My ultimate goal is to become an independent researcher in the field of molecular and cell research at a leading research institute, the place where I enjoy the challenges of research requiring creativity and perseverance, and I want to focus on identifying particular genes drug targets by using modern molecular techniques and translating these findings into potent therapeutics. I am particulary interested in the ongoing research in .... Lab in DNA repair and ... in deliver DNA vaccine and therapeutic RNA macromolecules. I would like to be an example of struggling people who contribute towards improving health aspects. Collective experiences have molded me to come up with these goals.

I believe that ,,,,,,,,,,,,, will offer the challenges of research expanding my scientific outlook through education and opportunities that I will get and prepare me to successfully fulfill my career goals. To realize my dreams and to achieve my career goals, I foresee your university as the right destination. Excellent research facilities and leading laboratories at ,,,,,,,,, provide me an ideal climate to deepen my understanding of gene regulation. Also, diversity research at Cell and Molecular graduate program would foster effective discussions with other departments. For this reason, I would regard my admission to ,,,,,,,, not only as a great responsibility and an obligation to work hard but also as great place to extend and enrich my research capacities.
