In today's competitive world, many families find it necessary for both parents to go out to work. While some say the children in these families benefit from the additional income, others feel they lack support because of their parents' absence.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Today we live in the world of competition and worries. We always fear of being lagging behind compared to others who surrounds us. We have to be first in everything whether it be in studies or possesing emenities and luxurious of life. These things dont come for free though. The price of everything is soaring high everyday. We hear the news of inflation, people complaining about it.
The only solution to sustain the family is both parents to go out to work. This generates moe income to cover the expenses of growing needs. Ofcourse, it has to be done as one member's income in an average family would not be enough to cover their children's expenses for school, house rent, fooding and so on. Children get opportunity to persue better education and grow up in a lavise life style.
But everything comes with good aspect and bad along with. Children at their early age learn things from their surrounding. Usually when both parents go out to work they are left behind with house keepers or at child care. It is not certain what kind of education they get there. Mostly is also results in distance of affection between children with their parents. They dont really care about their parents so much. When they come accross problems, they would find it comfortable to relay on their friends rather than their parents for support.
There are examples of my own friends and me myself. I was brought up in the family where my mother didn't work and looked after me till I grew up. I do have affection with my parents but I have my friends who were in hostel since very childhood. Now, they seldom care about their parents. It is kind of all the same to them.
In my opinion, as far as possible only one member should work in the family until the child is grown up as family matters the most. When it is really not possible to sustain with one member's income in such case we would not have an option but in anyway, children has to be looked upon. If you would not give time to your children during this childhood you would better not expect their attention during your old age.
