Note: I have to create a whole new essay at the last minute because my laptop had a hard drive failure (RIP). I mostly need a grammar check suggestion would be nice.NYU is global, urban, inspired, smart, connected, and bold. What can NYU offer you, and what can you offer NYU? (200-400 words):Wanting to escape the news of my parents splitting up, I went to get the only that can cheer me up. A Cereal Milkshake at the Milkbar in SoHo. As I was waiting for my cereal milkshake a young chap wearing a black NYU shirt responded to my body language and uttered "you know bad days only make the good ones better." The cashier gave him is drink and he walked away yelling "Have a terrible day" waving is hands goodbye in the air.
I realized he was right, the only reason why a great day is what is great is because we don't get it offend. There can't good if bad never existed. Like drinking a cereal milkshake. It's amazing, but if I drank it every day of every hour it would just as boring as water. You need to let go of what's hurting you and keep moving on. Endure whatever life throws at you and savior every enjoyable moment. I wrote that quote and hanged on my bedroom ceiling to remind myself every night and every morning that there's always going to be a better day.
I started to back to code. Something I haven't done since middle school. I wanted to help up and improve the world so I started to help on multiple projects on GitHub. Helping in the creation and improvements of NodeBB, Brackets, and multiple websites and games. I never felt more alive.
As the days got closer to college applications, the letters written on that man's black shirt rung in my mind. The more and more I read online about that acronym, the more I feel in love with the school especially with Gallatin. To learn about a multitude of subjects with the best that NYU has to offer. The chance to visit the world and meet new people and learn more about others and myself. To create and improve my individuality, learn what I want to learn. This is what drives to attend NYU.
I want to paint the town purple. Help out others in dark times like the NYU student did for me. Spending bring joy and laughter to everyone in the NYU. Create and show something meaningful that help not only the student body but to the world. I want to show everyone that bad days only make the good ones better.
