Undergraduate / Youths against Racism Conference. I decided to be the answer to the problem. [2]

Near the end of the XXX Program in 2012, I, along with thirty other participants, took on an immense task of planning a two-day youth conference called Youths against Racism. Our committees relied on each other functionally, but the complete lack of communication barred any impactful decision from being executed. I decided to be the answer to the problem. Leading the finance committee was a challenge on its own, but looking over the entire planning proved to be a greater one. I started attending every other committee meetings, which were held on different dates, and became a spokesperson for all the committees. An incredible amount of dedication and effort was put to become the universal team member whose presence was crucial to the progress of each committee. From this, I have learned that a true challenge may not be the one your situation throws at you, but the one you create. It is through solving this self-imposed challenge that I learned and expanded my limit. My decision to take definitive measures that honed my confidence, leadership and communication skills was the real challenge. Those are traits that I have slowly gained during this hectic journey and still carry on till this day.

It's still a work in progress but any feed back/changes would be appreciated. Thank you.
