Writing Feedback / What is best method to reflect a student's performance formal examinations or continuous assessment? [2]
Hi @ngonhutanhmn80,
Your essay is well written and considering it takes a balanced view, a couple of additional points that may substantiate your argument:
- Formal examinations have the potential to negatively impact the teaching-learning process (think: rote learning)
- Feedback time is more spaced out in the case of formal assessments. Continuous assessments, on the other hand, provide ongoing feedback to the learner on mastery and thus allows for more timely course correction.
Also pointing out some corrections:
- ... much more easy (instead of 'easily') to tailor...
- ... more simple to hold (instead of 'held') than continual assessment...
- ... how a student applies what he/she (instead of 'he', makes more sense to keep this gender neutral) has learned ...
- ....which helps them much ... can change to which in turn helps them to become excellent team players (the use of "much" is incorrect there)
Hope this is useful, cheers!
