Scholarship / "Explore Whatever you wanted for one year" has really put me in a corner. [3]

Hi everybody! New here. I'm doing a UGA scholarship essay prompt and really am quite stuck. I think I am reading too much into it but I don't know. I just can't seem to think of something...tangible...

So here's the prompt: "If you could explore whatever you wanted for one year using methods of you choice, how would you direct your efforts and what would you hope to accomplish?"

Now, here's what I was thinking...
Japanese culture (or just the history and world around anime and manga)
Creating a video game
Time travel
Views on interracial relationships today

Yeah...doesn't sound to intelligent does it? But its what interests me honestly. I guess I'm just not smart enough, eh? Well, thank you if you are giving advice! Its appreciated!
