Undergraduate / To become an engineering student - GKStaking the track of University track [2]

Throughout my voyage, the quote "Take the risk rather than losing the chance" remained in my memory. The moment I entered the world of Industrial and Management Engineering and saw how this field could change and resolve environmental problems, alternated my dedication to begin the new phase of my exploration. Industrial and management engineering complements my commitment to bringing the transformation that will pave the road for success and satisfaction to the society I am stepping into. This ambition fulfills my commitment to develop the way I work and live, and my passion for industrial and management engineering evolves me to become more innovative and efficient in work that requires creative skills. Even though it was the riskiest journey I have ever undertaken, I am confident enough to fulfill my dream ambition to succeed in South Korea and contribute to my beloved Philippines.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by the ways in which technology and innovation can revolutionize the way we live. This fascination hooked me when I stepped into the field of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). As a stem student, I proactively entered the world of design and manufacturing, utilizing my adaptability to develop innovative skills and industrial processes that prepared me for engaging in various engineering projects. As I delved deeper into the field of industrial and management engineering, my curiosity was sparked by the realization of how powerful sustainability, efficiency, and optimization can be in revolutionizing manufacturing processes and enterprises. The realization that industrial and management engineering is at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to complex challenges further fueled my ambition to become a part of this exciting and rapidly evolving field.

My interest in the field of invention and management was captivated by my involvement with the labor community, particularly in the Philippines, where I was raised. Looking back to my humble beginning, I was born in the province of Meycauayan, Bulacan, where I started to have an interest in the environment of my city. Living close to multiple manufacturing enterprises and laboring populations exposed me to a wide variety of industrial units. I first introduced myself to manufacturing processes with the help of my father. My father was a factory worker in our hometown since the year 2015. It was loud and deafening if you're new to my hometown, but behind those crackling sounds, you will know how important those machines that operate and help workers sustain the country needed. I remembered the day my father brought me along and offered me an overview of the factory he works in. I was twelve years of age at that time, and seeing those big and broad machines fantasized me, as I thought they were giant, moving robots. When I first arrived, I took advantage of the opportunity to explore the facility, and by doing so, I was able to become familiar with some of the machinery equipment, including the laser cutter, cold planer, telehandler, and single-man lift. As I grew older and became more familiar with other machines, my mind ignited, considering how this equipment could potentially be used to improve the economic performance of my country and be globally competitive. My interest in Korea was built ever since I was a high school student; part of it was when my grandfather was a factory worker in South Korea who introduced how great the culture and tradition of Koreans were. This brings my curiosity that made me formally study 한글 step by step and learn 20 to 10 grammars every day. Studying Korean language motivates me a lot for its exceptional opportunities that I can get like this scholarship and helped me expand my language proficiency that I can use in other countries, particularly in South Korea. Attending in some outside Korean activities and studying the language face-to-face gave a challenge to me, especially since I was still a senior high school student at the time, but I did not let that stop my dream ambition. However, I made those difficulties my motivation to step in another part of my journey and explore the world of South Korea. Learning the language and culture of South Korea fired me up when I finally achieved my first TOPIK LEVEL 2. This continued my interest. How great could it be that learning the language can provide my ambition to study in my dream country and continue my undergraduate studies at a prominent university. Not only in Korean performance, but my perseverance and passion to explore the entire range of engineering bore fruit when I started scoring good marks that made me a consistent honor awardee all throughout my high school academic years taking the strand of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). During that time, I was also chosen and given recognition as one of my organizations made into the Top 3 out of the 12 organizations in our institution. Having an outstanding academic performance was not only my achievement; in fact, I won the best "STEM" research in an individual category, and by this I was given the opportunity to participate in some engineering workshops hosted by my institution, which helps me to have an advanced sight in engineering curriculum.

The Philippines has been named as one of the Tiger Cub Economies However, major problems remain, mainly related to alleviating the wide income and growth disparities between the country's different regions and socioeconomic classes, reducing corruption, and investing in the infrastructure necessary to ensure future growth. According to studies, South Korea's economy expanded quickly, going from an impoverished country to a developed, high-income nation in a matter of generations. South Korea has one of the strongest and most effective social security systems among members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); social expenditure accounted for around 15.5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This inspired me to hone up my objectives and learn more about the importance of how industrial and management engineering can improve relations and bridge the gap between the two nations while cultivating excellent mutually beneficial relationships. To attain this goal, learning the environmental aspects of each nation motivated me to pursue my undergraduate studies in South Korea under Global Korean Scholarship (GKS).

Innovation and technology are native to South Korea. Being a developed nation, it is a great option for an engineering study abroad destination. This rotates my commitment that studying in South Korea will be a service to dominant my knowledge and explore the wide range of capacity of being an engineering student. Daejeon is well-known as the home of engineering in South Korea, capable of adapting quickly to changes in the environment and in technology, including globalization and information. The city got a spot in my heart that made me eagerly continue my undergraduate studies at Hannam National University (HNU) because of its quickly developing systems and globally integrated human resources. Furthermore, HNU focuses on creating advanced solutions to the most difficult problems facing the globe. Modern technology is also being used to help its students become innovative leaders and global contributors in this rapidly expanding scientific community.

In crafting this personal statement, I hope to convey not only my academic and professional achievements but also my unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth. I am driven by the desire to continuously learn, adapt, and innovate, and I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to contribute to each country and show my skills as industrial and management engineering. I am confident that my passion, dedication, and adaptability make me a strong candidate for furthering my education at Hannam National University and forging a successful career in this dynamic field.

In conclusion, this prestigious Global Korea Scholarship and this personal statement encapsulate my fervent dedication to industrial engineering and my determination to make meaningful contributions to this exciting and ever-changing industry. I am eager to embark on this next phase of my academic and professional journey, and I am committed to turning my aspirations into reality as an industrial and management engineer with Global Korea Scholarship as my backbone.
