Scholarship / Immersing myself in Irish society - GOI-IES SCHOLARSHIP 2025-2026 [2]

Please help me to review it and give any feedbacks for improment:

As a GOI-IES Scholar, how will you extend yourself beyond your project/studies to become actively involved in Irish society in order to maximize your academic/cultural exchange experience and raise awareness of the GOI-IES scheme in Ireland and beyond?

I look forward to immersing myself in Irish society, engaging with local customs and practices while sharing insights from my Vietnamese background.

My engagement with Enactus Ireland at DCU will offer a unique opportunity to delve into innovative approaches addressing social challenges in Ireland through student-led initiatives. Enactus' projects like Dyslex.ie and Threads demonstrate innovative use of technology to address social issues, from AI-powered dyslexia support to promoting sustainable fashion through circular economy principles. This aligns perfectly with my aspirations to understand and contribute to impactful social entrepreneurship. Through the extensive Enactus network, I will have the privilege of connecting with innovators and sustainability leaders, broadening my understanding of tech-driven sustainable practices in Ireland. Simultaneously, I will share insights on technology adoption from Vietnam's emerging social enterprise sector, such as cloud-based management systems, fostering a mutual exchange of ideas and best practices.

Beyond academic pursuits, I plan to embrace Ireland's pub culture as another avenue for cultural exchange, recognizing its potential for networking and fostering connections. In Vietnam, social drinking often catalyzes relationship-building, a custom that resonates with Ireland's pub culture. Leveraging my experience organizing social sharing events at student club, I'll launch "Scholars' Pub Nights," inviting international students, Irish peers, and community members to informal cultural exchange forums. These gatherings will provide a platform for sharing stories, discussing global perspectives, and gaining authentic insights into Irish social norms. In turn, I'll introduce Vietnamese traditions and customs through traditional dishes and popular drinking games from Vietnam, effectively bridging the cultural gap between the two countries.

More importantly, as a proud "GOI-IES Scholar," I will leverage these engagement opportunities to inspire others and amplify the scholarship's impact. Furthermore, I'm committed to expanding the global footprint of the program through following approachs.

First, I'll collaborate with the Irish Alumni Association in Vietnam to create "Scholar's Lens," a multilingual digital campaign promoting the GOI-IES scheme. This initiative will offer authentic insights into the lives of GOI-IES scholars at DCU, including myself, showcasing diverse experiences from academic achievements to cultural discoveries. Using my expertise in student event promotion, I'll maximize engagement through blog posts, videos, and interactive Q&A sessions, catering to various learning preferences. By providing relatable, first-hand accounts, we'll help applicants visualize the scholarship's transformative impact. Leveraging my extensive network of student leaders and organizations, I'll amplify the campaign's reach through content sharing and local information sessions. This multifaceted approach will inform and inspire potential applicants, expanding the scheme's reach throughout Vietnam and beyond, while fostering a dynamic community of future GOI-IES scholars.

Second, I plan to establish a robust mentorship network connecting GOI-IES alumni with current scholars and prospective applicants. This initiative will create a dynamic ecosystem for knowledge sharing, career guidance, and fostering long-term connections between Ireland and scholars' home countries. Drawing from my experience as a student club leader in Vietnam, I'll apply best practices in organizing and managing this mentorship program to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability. By implementing this network, I'll extend the scholarship's influence far beyond its immediate duration, creating a ripple effect of positive change through a "Pay It Forward" scheme. The goal is to cultivate a self-perpetuating cycle where mentored students become next mentors, exponentially increasing the program's impact and introducing the GOI-IES scholarship to potential students who may be unaware of this opportunity.

Scholarship / GOI-IES scholarships - LINKAGE BETWEEN VIETNAM AND IRELAND [2]

Please have a look at my aswer to the question for GOI-IES scholarships:

Explain the extent to which you have a long-term interest in Ireland and how will you promote links with Ireland during your time as a GOI-IES Scholar and following your studies, as GOI-IES Alumni?

My professional focus on smart city case studies has ignited a deep interest in Ireland's remarkable transformation. This small nation's journey from a post-colonial state to a global leader in urban innovation, exemplified by projects like Dublin's Smart Docklands and Cork Smart Gateway, offers invaluable lessons for developing nations like Vietnam. Ireland's success in implementing technological advancements, such as the Land Registry Digital Mapping Project and Planning Application Systems, has fostered a more transparent and efficient real estate market, revolutionizing urban living and attracting investment. This approach serves as a model I plan to study and adapt for Vietnam's development. Ireland's strategy of creating urban technology testbeds and promoting cross-sector collaboration aligns with my goal of contributing to sustainable, livable cities in Vietnam.

What truly solidifies my long-term commitment is Ireland's unwavering dedication to education and lifelong learning. Initiatives like the National Skills Strategy and Digital Skills for Citizens Scheme resonate deeply with my own aspirations and Vietnam's developmental needs. Ireland's efforts to promote digital education among economically disadvantaged citizens, as demonstrated by the National Broadband Plan and Public Library Digital Services, are particularly inspiring. As a Vietnamese from a poor family who faced societal pressure to prioritize domestic duties over education, I see Ireland as a beacon of opportunity. The supportive environment for continuous intellectual growth aligns perfectly with my vision for personal and professional development.

Therefore, I am committed to a long-term engagement with Ireland, building links and fostering a mutually beneficial partnership with Vietnam.

As a real estate investment researcher with digital data analysis expertise, I will actively participate in the Irish Institute of Digital Business (IIDB) Network at DCU to facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. I aim to initiate at least two joint research projects between Vietnamese and Irish institutions, focusing on adapting proven Irish smart city solutions to the Vietnamese context. These collaborations will address unique challenges in Vietnam's urban landscapes, such as financial fraud in real estate, leveraging blockchain and AI technologies. Drawing upon Ireland's successful implementations, like their blockchain-based property conveyancing system, we will develop tailored solutions for Vietnam.

Leveraging the Vietnam-Ireland Alumni Network, starting with students at DCU, I plan to organize annual small-scale conferences focused on specific urban challenges such as sustainable transportation and digital governance. These events will bring together experts from both countries to share insights and explore potential collaborations. Through these efforts, I will showcase Vietnamese research capabilities to potential Irish partners and investors, paving the way for long-term, mutually beneficial academic and professional relationships between our two countries. This initiative will also contribute to more transparent and efficient urban markets in Vietnam.

Post-graduation, I am eager to contribute to Ireland's ambitious climate neutrality goals by 2050 as a sustainable investment advisor. I will then leverage my growing expertise in smart city solutions and my network to connect Irish investors with Vietnamese real estate companies, promoting smart city concepts and transferring Irish learning approaches to enhance transparency and attract foreign investment in Vietnam. This knowledge transfer will advance mandatory ESG disclosure, enhance anti-money laundering measures, and increase market transparency in Vietnam, boosting investor confidence and local employment opportunities.

By sharing the formal education and insights gained from Ireland's learning approaches with local developers and corporations in Vietnam, I hope to elevate Vietnam's real estate sector to international standards of sustainability and transparency, fostering linkage between Irish and Vietnamese businesses.

Scholarship / GOI-IES Scholar - IRELAND SCHOLARSHIP [2]

Please help me to provide feedback for the essay:

What is the benefit of becoming a GOI-IES Scholar, to yourself (personally and professionally), to Ireland, and to your country of origin?

Despite Vietnam's growing appeal for foreign investment in green real estate, concerns regarding financial fraud and corporate power persist, highlighting the necessity for strategic financing and robust risk management. The GOI-IES scholarship, in Ireland-a leader in sustainable development and technological innovation-will empower me to become a catalyst for change in Green Finance and Sustainable Investment.

The Irish education system's emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving would complement and broaden the foundational knowledge I've gained through Vietnam's rigorous educational standards. This progressive approach will unlock my innovative potential, enabling me to develop impactful solutions.in the evolving market. Ireland's reputation for continuously deploying new technology provides a valuable foundation for aspiring investment consultants in sustainable real estate development. By studying there, I can gain expertise in breakthrough technologies transforming the global property sector, such as blockchain in land registry and smart contract for enhancing transparency, AI in smart building for improving efficiency, and advanced data analytics for better risk management. These tools will directly address the financial fraud and corporate governance issues stemming from unreliable property information in Vietnam. As the sector digitalizes and prioritizes sustainability, my ability to bridge traditional practices with emerging technologies will be invaluable. An Irish education will be key to driving innovation in sustainable real estate, implementing data-driven strategies, and pursuing an international career.

As a GOI-IES Scholar, my research background in Vietnam, particularly in emerging market investment risks, will be a valuable asset to Dublin City University (DCU) and the broader Irish academic community. I will contribute significantly to the realization of DCU Strategy 2023-2028, elevating DCU's research profile in Europe while enhancing its scholarly and public communication. My specialized knowledge and research focus align perfectly with the mission of DCU's Anti-corruption Research Centre (ARC), enabling me to produce impactful research on transparency in corporate governance and business ethics. For example, my work could inform policy recommendations for sustainable investment in Ireland's rapidly growing real estate sector, potentially attracting a quantifiable increase in foreign direct investment. Furthermore, my experience in presenting complex financial data to diverse audiences will enable me to effectively communicate research findings through public workshopsand accessible publications, thereby supporting DCU's strategic outreach goals. Furthermore, I will facilitate institutional partnerships between DCU and Vietnamese universities through collaborative research and workshops on the Irish educational experience, enriching Ireland's academic ecosystem and reinforcing its reputation as a welcoming hub for international talent.

After graduating, I will bridge Vietnamese and European investment sectors, particularly in green real estate. For fraud prevention to create a trusted real estate environment and support SDG 8.2 efforts in Vietnam, I, a JLL senior researcher, propose transforming my previously built ArcGIS (a spatial data management and analysis platform) into a publicly accessible platform incorporating blockchain transactions and open data initiatives. This platform will provide comprehensive tracking of property performance, financial information, and ESG metrics. To do so, I need expertise in digital market trend analysis and data integrity, insights from innovative systems like Ireland's blockchain-based land registry and technologies in improving real estate transparency, and networks with GOI-IES sustainability leaders and Irish practitioners. This exchange will allow me to build beneficial relationships between international and Vietnamese businesses, aiding long-term investment planning for local enterprises. My Irish experience will also inspire more fellow young Vietnamese professionals, potentially sparking a wave of sustainable practices in Vietnam.
