I have come to understand that the true test of knowledge is in its application.After my first year of undergraduate study at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), I undertook a project to solve a challenge in my hometown, Akim Oda in the Eastern part of Ghana. The main purpose of this project was to utilize agricultural drones for spraying rice farms to control pest infestation. Akim Oda is largely dominated by small-scale farmers, and a major challenge these farmers face is pest infestation and control. I found it intriguing to embark on this project by applying the knowledge I had acquired from my program of study to solve a communal problem. Seeing how this technology could solve a real problem for my community changed everything for me. It showed me that engineering is not just about theory but also about tangible impact. This experience sparked my interest in developing and building intelligent aerospace systems to solve real-world problems.
