Undergraduate / "the Human Rights Club" - extracurricular activities or work experience [2]
Out of the constellation of activities that I have taken part in none stands out more saliently than the founding of the Human Rights Club. Being the daughter of the ----- Ambassador, I've grown accustomed to being a minority in almost every country I've ever lived. Instilling in me good values including being open-minded and understanding of people's customs, ironically enough I felt that it was my culture that was being sacrificed instead.
Hence I founded the Human Rights Club. The principle behind it was to raise awareness and take positive strides towards understanding and suppressing global issues in an attempt to create a more globally aware environment at our school. Of the myriad of activities the one that I am most proud of is the adoption of three orphans from Tanzania, India and China.
By embracing my uniqueness's I became an empowered thinker, an effective communicator and a global citizen.
