I dragged myself out from under my mosquito net, threw on the first clothes I saw and sprinted up gravel road to meet my Amigos service partner. Out of breath, I saw her host sisters anxiously waiting outside excited to start the campamentos. "żDonde está Ely?" (where is Ely) I asked, "está durmiendo" (she is sleeping) replied Milagros. We had 10 minutes get to the school for our campers and she was sleeping? I shook her awake... "ĄNececitamos ir ahora!" (We need to go now!) "Está bien pueden esperar" (Its ok they can wait) She said groggily. "No está bien, yo iré a la escuela y tu puedes venir cuando estás lista." (No its alright, I will go to the school and you can come when you are ready) My biggest pet peeve is being late, I find that it shows that your time is more important then others, now I'm sure that is not what Ely thought she was demonstrating. However, I have made a pact to myself to be on time, if not early to every event in my life and never keep others waiting.
