Undergraduate / 'to experience new cultures and to learn more about people' - Peace Corps app [3]
Your reasons for wanting to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer; and
How these reasons are related to your past experiences and life goals.
How you expect to satisfy the Peace Corps 10 Core Expectations (please be specific about which expectations you expect to find most challenging and how you plan to overcome these challenges).
I would love to be a Peace Corps Volunteer to experience new cultures and to learn more about how they live and go about on their ways of life and their history of the culture. Ever since i was a little boy i have always been the first one to help anyone with no praise needed for what I did. This is a opportunity to do what I love to do most being part of a team that actually cares about the people and the world and not just to turn the name around and make a few bucks off of it.
I grew up in a small town in Colorado where their was was only a few diversity's in our culture. Everybody pretty much conforming to what they thought others would find expectable. I moved to Colorado Springs when i was 13 and my eyes were dramatically opened so much more. It was a little bit of a culture shock to me the way others acted and what they believed in. This was amazing to me it was at that point in my life that i knew that i wanted to learn first hand as many different cultures as I possible could.
It was these differences in my life experiences that I have had to overcome and learn how other people live their lives and how adapt to learn the good things from them and integrate it into my life so that i may one day pass it on to another. Meeting and learning from everybody i have met I have become come a better person and very well adjusted on how to handle myself I'm many different situations good or bad.
I think the Core Expectation number one will be the most difficult for me. I love my family very much and it will be very hard to be gone and so far away from them. My family is close but i have discussed the Peace Corps with them and how I feel about my passion to learn and help others. They understand how i feel about this once in a lifetime opportunity. If I am granted this chance to become apart of this amazing team I would truly be ecstatic and honored.
