Undergraduate / 'something that I can accomplish' - Peace Corps Application Essay help [NEW]

Hey everyone, this is my first time using this site, but I could really use some help on this essay. My essay writing skills are a little rusty and I would like to see how "up to snuff" my rough draft is so far. Any and all help is appreciated!!

******

Joining the Peace Corps is something that I have always wanted to do and at this point in my life, I finally feel like it is something that I can accomplish. Currently, I am working in a job that allows me to live comfortably, but it is less than fulfilling. I do not have a family yet, so I feel like this is my opportunity to achieve this goal while giving myself a chance to "Reset" and adjust my career path.

My adulthood has been dominated by my service to my country. After 9/11 I joined the United States Marine Corps and in 2006 I was deployed to Iraq. As an M1A1 Abrams Tank Crewman, my time there was spent mainly on patrols where I could see the hardship of conflict first-hand. The experience I gained while abroad allowed me to see that I am my best when I am helping other people.

Within the next year, I will be undertaking what I feel is the most difficult of the 10 Core Expectations. My plan for getting myself personally and professionally ready for 27 months of service will consist of paying down debt and determining what I will do with my house. I feel confident in my ability to interact and integrate with another culture, but I also know it will not be easy and without challenges.

My curious preferences in location only stem from my desire to have a path forward once leaving the Peace Corps. Ideally, I would like to live and work in a country that uses a major language. My studies in Mandarin would make me want to be placed in China, but I would be more than willing to serve in a country that speaks French, Russian or Arabic. The environmental aspect of the Peace Corps mission is the closest alignment to the experience I have, but I think I would do well in Youth and Community Development as well (due to my volunteer experience).
