Undergraduate / UC Davis wait list essay - Veterinary and research pursuits [3]
So I was put on the waitlist for admission to UC Davis, and to accept a position on the wait list you're required to respond to a prompt that says: "please briefly tell us why you feel UC Davis is the right place for you to continue your education. Please limit your response to 200 words." Here is my essay. I would greatly appreciate feedback or assistance!
UC Davis is my first choice to continue my education for many reasons.
First, it has a top Veterinary Medicine School and an excellent College of Biological Sciences. These fit with my academic interests and my lifelong passion for animals. I have had this passion from early childhood and have developed it through my active participation in my high school Animal Rights Club.
Secondly, UC Davis has an Undergraduate Research Center. I've always had a natural curiosity for investigation and experimentation and the ability to participate in research as an undergraduate will be very exciting and would give me great confidence to pursue a graduate degree or career involving research.
Finally, the college-town feel of the campus and its friendly reputation along with beautiful setting and easy access to transportation back home are a great combination. I feel I would be extremely happy in this environment.
From an academic, career interest and personal standpoint, UC Davis is the perfect place for me and I truly hope to gain admission from the wait list.
