Book Reports / Hamlet - Essay Structure (thematic examples?) [2]
What's the most appropriate way to structure an answer for a question on Hamlet?
If the question read "choose a play which has a theme of revenge or betrayal. Show how the dramatist explores your chosen theme and discuss how this treatment enhances your appreciation of the play as a whole," how should I formulate an answer?
Should I structure the thematic examples according to when they appear in the play or according to their importance/relevance to the question?
Also, if the question read "choose a play with a scene which you found shocking" would it be best to analyse each incident of the scene in the order they happen? Additionally, how should I relate the key incidents in the scene to other related instances in the play and how should I discuss the scenes importance to the text as a whole?
I have an exam soon and any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
