Scholarship / Need help with a scholarship essay 400 words only. Starting points? [3]

Hi

I am applying for a post graduate scholarship and I need to write along the lines of the points of how I meet the criteria of the scholarship, what I expect to gain out of it, how will I use my knowledge in the future and what my long term goals and plans are. The scholarship for which I am applying for has academic excellence, development potential and financial need as it's criteria.

Can anyone elaborate on these points since I am writing an essay and I am a bit lost as to how to go about completing it. I will post my essay as soon as I finish with it so that I can ask for your feedback.
