Graduate / I was an ardent follower of Formula One; statement of purpose(German Universities) [5]

I have posted my SOP here. Pl review and let me know.

My tryst with automotive engineering began during my school days when I was an ardent follower of Formula One. I remember being hooked to the television, watching in amazement, an array of open wheeled cars circulates the track in a staggering fashion. Interestingly, I perceived the spectacle as a technical exercise rather than a mere sport. Even at that age, I knew enough to appreciate the sheer genius of the wizards who had engineered those magnificent machines. It was then that I aspired to enter this intriguing branch of engineering and make a mark in the automotive universe.

As a part of my endeavor to learn more about the use of computers in my field I am presently crediting P.G Master Diploma in Modeling, Analysis and Simulation (AUTOCAD, CATIA ,ANSYS, SOLID WORKS, PRO-E, MSP and PPM concepts) and Certificate courses in C++.. I also presented a paper on "STEERING ASSISTED HEADLIGHTS" in Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, Melmaruvathur, as part of a Symposium Event along with various notable presentations in my college.

My first encounter with a real world engineering problem was when our team decided to work on the "Eco-friendly‟ theme for the design and fabrication project. On the lines of my opinion that eco-friendly designs must evolve from serving just industries and automobiles to domestic applications, we chose to design and fabricate a refrigerator system with a heat exchanger. This project allowed me to take my theoretical knowledge in subjects like design of machine elements, Heat and mass transfer and Thermal engineering beyond the classroom and into the workshop. Here we made use of the heat steaming from the Refrigerant to heat the water via a heat exchanger, thus cooling the refrigerant initially before it enters the condenser and hence providing high efficiency. This reduces the emission of heat from the refrigerator to a considerable amount. Thus, when applied in commercial scale, it would play a part in reducing global warming. We succeeded in fabricating the model, and it is currently being employed in my college campus.

I then had the opportunity to work on the ANALYSIS OF PERFORMANCE, COMBUSTION AND EMMISSION CHARACTERISTICS OF JATROPHA METHYL ESTER BLEND DIESEL FOR CI ENGINE WITH VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO upon completion of my sophomore year under Dr.S.Arivazhagan. My work involved the experimental determination of the above mentioned characteristics under the blends of 10%, 20% and 30% using CR 16 and 18 and also a mathematical model of three dimensional simulations using CFD software STAR CD. This opened a whole new world of simulation using computational fluid dynamics for me. The paper incorporating these results have been accepted for publication by the International Journal of Engineering Science and Technology . The project exposed me to quality research and honed my skill for analytical thinking and technical writing. It also gave me the opportunity to critically analyze heat transfer mechanisms and made me ponder about aspects which I would not have paid attention to on a course.

I believe in the ancient saying that "Knowledge grows when shared" and to help channel the development of interest in automotive technology in my college, I pioneered the inception of the club in my college of the Society of Automotive Engineering. Founding the club and organizing activities as a part of the club offered me

Valuable lessons in leadership. With the help of the club, I was able to incite automotive interests in my juniors and also help them gain proficiency in packages like Catia, Ansys and Fluent. At the end of the day, I can say that I have helped make my juniors take a liking towards automotive engineering and hence, the knowledge has grown .

The Masters program International Automotive Engineering at Hochschule Inglostadt will provide me the best international exposure and excellent quality of education required to achieve my career goal. Further, studying in a country which is the techno-research leader will provide a lot of potential for my professional growth. I strongly believe that I possess the motivation, the intellectual capability and the solid groundwork to set out on this exhilarating path, to do justice to a demanding graduate program and make significant contributions to the ongoing work at the Hochschule Inglostadt.
