Undergraduate / 'Westport, a small colonial town' - this University of South Carolina Supplement [2]
Personal Statement.
Describe the environment in which you grew up, and explain how it has shaped you as a person.
The small colonial town that sits right on the Long Island sound is a place I love calling home. Growing up in this town it has really taught me a lot about what to value in life and how to be the best person I can be. The town of Westport, Connecticut has a lot of social diversity, a wide range of characters, from the rich and preppy to the goth an independent. My Mom and Dad have always taught me, just like any other parents to treat others the way you want to be treated. When I was growing up my parents would also instill in me this type of, "Hey, you never know" way of kindness to people. Having that kind of mentality has taught me to be nice to everyone with a smile on my face because you have no idea what people have gone through. Being nice to everyone with smile on your face can change someones day for the better. When I was younger that was how I made friends, I was nice to everyone and kids were nice to me. That is why this town has really turned me into the happy, karizmatic, down to earth guy that I am today. After visiting south carolina the campus and the people are just phenomenal if I were to get accepted into this school I would accept enrollment in a second.
