Undergraduate / Love for music, photography, literature, fine art to dance; Art -statement of intent [4]

Hey I'm applying for art school as a transfer student, can anyone help me I did start working on something but Im not sure if I'm on the right track... Thanks in advance.

For as long as I can remember I've always had a great love for all types of art from music, photography, literature, fine art to dance. I'm not the best when it comes to using words but as a photographer I feel that I truly know what it means to have a sense of freedom of expression or F.O.E., as I like to put it. It wasn't until I visited Europe in the spring of 2008 with my High School that I realized I wanted to be an artist myself. During my trip I got the chance to view and photograph beautiful cities, beaches, elaborate cathedrals and the work of some of the greatest artists of all time like GaudĂ, Michelangelo, and Botticelli.

Photography enables me to create and capture moments I find interesting that may have great or little meaning. I love shooting weird interesting subjects at random moments; that way I'm able to capture ones true emotions and not just a cheesy staged photograph. Being behind the camera makes me feel invincible, there's no room for hiding the raw truth as it's set right before you. As the photographer I get to see the subject's beauty, flaws and insecurities while having control over lighting, colors, highlights and content. I'm also interested in other areas of photography like macrophotography, advertising, photojournalism and fashion photography. Fashion to me is not only wearable art it allows us to visually make a statement, illustrate emotions, and most of all it gives us a sense of identity.

Photography isn't just a hobby it has made me who I am as an individual in a world filled with more than 7 billion people. In the future I would love to own my own studio and work for a magazine like Rolling Stones, Vogue or W. Studying at SVA would not only be a dream come true but it will allow me to understand what it takes to become a great photographer. I intend on taking the course load head on while experimenting and learning about the many techniques of photography.
