In addition to any work experience that you listed on your application, please tell us how you spent your most recent summer vacation.
My most recent summer vacation was nothing like a holiday! It was full of camps and events. Meetings, administrations and collaborations filled most of my time during the short 1 month break. Camps were not the end of business, I was involved in a funfair during Christmas. It was truly tiring yet satisfying holiday. I was glad that I did not waste my life away for my own comfort and leisure.
Describe a trait or characteristic that has been passed along to you by your family. Tell us why you like or dislike this aspect of yourself.
Hospitality is a virtue passed down to me from my family. As the saying goes, "do unto your neighbor as you would have them do unto you." This is a doctrine that I embrace. When I visit other houses, I would love to be welcomed. I would therefore want any guest that steps into my house feel like a million bucks. Without fail, my guests will leave the house feeling that they are valued. I would thus gain more friends than enemies.
New York City is an essential element of academic and cultural life at NYU. If you could engage in an activity or start a club or service organization at NYU, what would it be and how would you envision it impacting the larger community?
New York City, with its many inhabitants committing suicide each year, needs someone to bring to it a more positive light. In order to brighten people's day, I propose to start a "pass-it-on-club" which works much like a chain email. One way this could be done Is by having member A passing a feel-good card or letter to member B, while member B does the same for member C. The next day, member A repeats the process to member D and onwards. Eventually, at least 365 people's day will have been influenced and impacted within a year.
You have been selected to sing in a talent show. What song would you choose? Why?
Holding concerts like Avril Lavigne was a fantasy that many teenagers including I fancied. Singing is a part of my life but I am never good at it. Therefore, the person who selected me to sing in a talent show must loves me so much to take this risk so that my dream can be fulfilled. In order to show my deepest appreciation for him/her, I would sing "Never had A Dream Come True" by S Club 7. "I never had a dream come true, till that day that I found you."
Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline.
My decision to pursue a business degree was largely influenced by my family background and the current economic situation. Reality and history have proven that Business and Political Economics are closely linked. Politics have the power to either restrict growth or expand the economy. The economic system is directly related to the performances of businesses. This fascinating relationship between these 3 subjects is mesmerizing and definitely worth studying.
