Undergraduate / Travel Writing summer program in Australia; Irish Fiddling - Why BU? [2]

Hello, everyone. So, I just finished my BU Supplement (finally), and I would really love some feedback and constructive criticism. I know for a fact that my ending was, well, quite awkward-sounding, and I would appreciate some helpful tips on how to better get my point across with the 250 words I am allotted.

Thanks!

The prompt is "Please tell us why BU is a good fit for you and what specifically has led you to apply for admission."

As an aspiring author and a long-time lover of literature, I have to admit I became ecstatic over the many opportunities that BU offers for those with an interest in writing as I sifted through the university website. Participating in the Travel Writing summer program in Australia, joining The Daily Free Press, debating with fellow students in a class dealing with the interrelation of poetry and music: I know that all of these experiences, and more, will grant me invaluable knowledge and many fond memories. I plan to obtain my bachelor's in English, and then, work to gain my masters in either creative writing or editorial studies, as I intend to enter the world of the publishing business. The fact that BU offers both of these pathways of study as actual graduate degrees was very influential in my decision to apply. I look forward to attending class in the famous Room 222, or working on my editorial thesis with one of the many esteemed professors at the Editorial Institute. As for the different degree options I stumbled across (the joint BA/MA, for example), I like the fact that I have the option to essentially move forward towards my goals at a faster rate than what is offered by a typical four-year degree program. After researching all of the various opportunities offered by the university, both academic and non-education related, I strongly believe that I will thrive in BU's atmosphere of academic excellence and creative enhancement.

Undergraduate / Simplicity. Columbia Supp, Past experiences that attract you to a field of study [4]

Very good essay, strong writing and to-the-point. Just one thing: I think you should replace the "instead it was" with "but"

"Great things are built on simple foundations and on that day, what amazed me was not the words I had used, instead it wasbut the words I hadn't."
