Essays / Gradation project; research in linguistics part [3]

I Mohammed from Saudi Arabia in last semester of English language and literature at university ,
so i have a course called Gradation project.
I tell my supervisor that i want to research in linguistics part

Would you suggest me a distinguished topic to search for?

I never make a research so i need your ideas and suggestion plz
All information i know is to find a problem in linguistics side
and write an introduction then talking about the problem
and finally write the conclusion and the solution of this problem? is that right?
