Scholarship / How you contribute to your household and what would have happened during your absence? [6]
Hi, please i want a review on these essays. Any awkward statement, grammatical errors?
Prompt: Please describe how you contribute to your household (e.g. cooking, cleaning, paying bills, taking care of siblings and/or other relatives).
I grew up in a community where children are to do the house chores. In my home, I was the older child so I had to do the whole house chores like sweeping the house, tidying up the room, helping in cooking, fetching water and caring for my younger sister by giving her bath. My responsibilities increased after high school and now, I work part-time to help my family financially in order to ensure that our daily needs are met.
Prompt #2: Please explain: if you were to receive this Scholarship, how will your household responsibilities be taken care of in your absence?
My mother is a trader who wakes up early at dawn around 4:00 am GMT to go and sell sliced pawpaw on the road. My mother can take care of the cleaning and fetching water but with the taking care of my sister,my mother will send my sister to a family friend to take care of her till she gets back from work.
I live in the same community with my family members. When one of my relatives leaves home for a long period of time,we help in getting the house chores done so if I am to live the community for any reason I have no doubt that my relatives would do the same.
Nobody, be ti a relative or a community member could take over my duty of contributing financially which is why I am applying for this scholarship. With this scholarship, I would not have to worry about my fees being paid and focus on my studies.
