Graduate / I am looking for admission in MS in Financial Mathematics. Evaluate my SOP. [9]

My name is ABC. I am twenty three years old working in XY IT sector. I hail from YJK, a small town in Country of Mount Everest, Nepal where I was born and bought up till schooling. Unfortunately the country is suffering through discrimination between boy and girl education. Girls from selected families get chance for education but in local government institutes. My parents' different perspicacity opened door for me and my siblings to study from English medium schools, are still consider matter of luck in most parts of the country, since childhood. Their broad view against discrimination not only provided opportunity to obtain quality education compared to other girl kids but also made me release the utter significance of education at early age. I loved going school to know more about world history, making me fascinate on "How big is world and what things have already taken place since my birth!"

In a middle class family financial crisis is common and same was there for us. Parents work extremely hard just to meet day to day expenses. On top of it, school fees of five kids was like adding fuel to the fire for the family. However, this never deterred my parents sending us to school. Being quite aware of economy problems, we all siblings started helping in family business at early age. Managing time between school and work taught one of extremely precious lesions of life - time management at such tender age. Although I had a different childhood involving less participation in sports and more in work, economic conditions never affected my love towards study and I always did maintain top grade throughout schooling.

One of the most important days of my life was when I got an opportunity to study post schooling in Pune- one of the education cities of East India, close to Mumbai. I was introduced to possibly best education system with better facilities and highly educated and cooperative teachers. This was the most astonishing phase of my life. Being from a small place, everything at first sight was so surprising me more than anything ever. I was taken aback when I learned the fact that Bollywood was just at stretch of three hours and many more. I was impressed by the education system- which is missing in my place, my country. Reverence and estimation for quality education engendered more in me; I started exploring every aspect in this field along with comparing it with system of my country. I was doing superb academically. But I had ambivalence feeling mixed with happiness and sadness. I was happy with my solo growth and the facilities that I was enjoying but equally sad thinking about my society people. The fifty percentage of countries girl population have not got a chance to go to school encumbered by poverty and parochial views. I want to bring change in my country's systems and its people understanding, especially in these aspects: girl education, women empowerment and gender equality. I believe these are not limitation of a developing country like Nepal but they are stymies in a country's development.

Another significant phase in education came when my undergraduate decision was sponsored by [PQ] by providing scholarship for four years program - bachelor in technology. Although economically I was relieved, personally I was looking around for every plausible to sponsor, support and encourage students who have immense potential and are bereft of opportunities. I am certain I would be able to contribute in nation's growth by educating my nation. Engineering plays around mathematics in every subject. Involvement in family business had already instilled in me great affinity for mathematics. Besides, I find programming fascinating and always aspire to be a great coder. The subject that I have chosen is a perfect field I can grow and bring best out of it. I am positive that I would achieve what I dream to be. I would establish myself as a global citizen by connecting to and working for all strident students around world in the possible smallest way.

If I am accepted to the [university name ] I would like to do several things. I will like to major in Financial Mathematics to continue my studies and secure a master degree which, undoubtedly, aids to a great career in IT fields. I am optimistic that the university's cognitive diversity will provide me an open platform to connect with people and communities having common dream like mine. I would like to gather a group of people who can contribute spare money from individual income to support directly or indirectly in children growth and prosperity irrespective of territory restrictions. Besides, I would like to re-live my childhood and participate actively in sports and curriculum which I missed then. I would love nothing more than to be a student at University of [name] so I advance my master study and secure future of opportunity deprived talents.
