Writing Feedback / Is internet helpful or not? A lot of people are addicted from it already. [3]
According to a research conducted by the scientists, 6% of the world's population has been addicted to the Internet and the percentage of the people getting addicted to the internet has been linearly increasing. People have involved the use of Internet so smoothly in their life that they themselves don't even know that they are getting addicted to it.
Today's generation is all about internet and e-world. Everything can be found online. Every profession in today's world uses internet and it has for sure helped the work process by making it faster and easier. Some people say that it is definitely helpful because it can help students to get whatever knowledge they want to, help business people expand their horizons, help old age people to do whatever they want just on their fingertips. But along with all its good features there are some aspects of internet such as social media which after a certain point is not at all helpful. The audience I hope to reach though my article mainly is the students or the youngsters. This is because the teenagers are the ones using most of the internet and they are the ones who really need to know whether they are helpful or not.
I went to google to find out the main sources for this essay. This is such a trendy topic right now that's why I could get a lot of articles and blogs online giving their views about the internet. The way I found out most of my sources were by just typing about the internet on the google and followed the links provided to me.
One of the source which really stuck in my mind was from a website called Blogthikbig. It had a wonderful article named as 'A Million reasons why Internet is good for you'. The article's first point stated that internet is good for health. I have heard many reasons why internet is not good for health but this was something unique and different. The reason internet is good for health is that it helps to lower the depression and helps a person to find the solution to their health issues. Other reason was that Internet is good for learning. And after reading this part of the article I genuinely feel that this is true. Internet has all sorts of information, If you start surfing on internet you can go from one topic to another and this increases your general knowledge and makes your mind work faster. The other two points which told me that why is internet good is that internet is beneficial for the economy because the internet contributes to 3.4% to Gross Domestic Product. Also, Internet is very good for communication and we all know this because it has been proven. Social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Skype etc. has brought the world soo closer that everything feels right beside you.
As part of the other side of the debate, I tried to look for a article which told me that why is internet bad for you. I came by a website called as listverse which gave me 10 ways of why is internet destroying us. Reading the 10 reasons were a bitter truth for me. The main reason after analyzing most of the points were that the Social media is the black ship of the internet. Social media is something which is very addictive and over usage of social media can be bad to you. This website told me that internet is making our brains slow. This is because wherever you need help you just go to the internet, ask your question and you get the answer. But you forget to use your brain because the internet access has been really easy nowadays.
Although after going through a lot of blogs and articles, I just got mixed reviews. I couldn't get a concrete answer whether the internet is good for you or bad, whether it Is helpful or not. In order to complete my research I have decided to interview few people and everyone of different generation. This will give me the real life answer and help me to get to my answer faster and easier.
The biggest challenge I think I will be facing is the interview. Taking an interview is not that hard but asking the appropriate questions is the most difficult task. Also, the research topic I have is a very trendy and common topic. That's why I need to choose the most appropriate people for this interview. The people I am thinking to interview is my mother, my sister and my cousin. The reason I selected these three people are because all of the three are from different generations so they would be having a different perspective on internet which will help me to get to the conclusion of my topic easily.
The most important thing about the internet is that people nowadays are not knowing that they are getting addicted to the internet. Internet has made the lives of human beings so easy that people cannot imagine their life without internet.
