How Does This Study Improve My Career Prospects [3]
How will the proposed study contribute to your career?
I have gained some fundamental theories of economics at an undergraduate level and have been working as an economist at the Research Department of the Bank of Mongolia for 3 years, which has given me some practical experience of economics. Master of Economics at ANU offers courses through which I expect to deepen my theoretical knowledge in economics as well as gain required skills to perform a high level of econometrics assessment. By studying in 'one of the longest standing, and most highly respected postgraduate degrees in Australia', I expect to improve my analytical skills combining with my practical skills gained in the Bank of Mongolia, which in turn will enable me to write a research work compatible with international standards and achieve a higher position in my career.
In addition, it is crucial to possess skills to do economic modelling, process micro numerical data and do assessment on them and I hope to gain the skills necessary by taking classes on Microeconomic Theory, Advanced Microeconomic Analysis, and Applied micro-econometrics. Even though there are quantitative data on households and companies, there are no reliable research done using these data because of the scarcity of economists who are capable of doing such qualified micro economics research. Thus, attendance to this scholarship program will equip me to become an economist of such high skills and fill this gap, which will definitely show a positive impact on my personal career.
