Letters / Recommendation letter for PhD application under a Marie-Curie Fellowship [2]

Hi all,

I'm applying to a PhD post under H2020 program of Marie-Curie with the research topic focused in infectious diseases, and they asked to have 2 reference letters. I intend to get 1 from my current supervisor - director of a research institute and my former lecturer/ current collaborator.

Could you please kindly have a look at those recommendation letter and give me your thoughts?

Recommendation letter 1 - from my current supervisor:

Ms. X asked me to send a letter of reference to accompany her application for the ABC. I am very pleased to do so.

As Director of XXX , I had the pleasure to work with Ms. X for more than a year. Her position at XXX is scientific coordinator. She is responsible for coordination and development of an International Epidemiology Consortium focusing on liver cancer, which she has done to broad satisfaction. She manages her time well; she is a team player and a hard worker. She has a strong work ethic and is persistent in achieving goals.

Graduated with epidemiology background, Ms. X has proven that she is a skilled researcher with solid knowledge of research methodology and biostatistics. Outside of her standard line of work, she is also supporting clinicians and scientists within the XXX with study methodology and design, as well as data analysis, to the great delight of every Principal Investigator who requested her assistance.

Ms. X is an enthusiastic and responsible employee. She really enjoys being challenged at works, either in conducting scientific research or in public engagement. She developed skills to work well in an intercultural environment through years of working with different communities in multiple countries. In her current position, she has built relationship with researchers from research institutes all over the world in order to facilitate shared epidemiological data and boost research in regional scale. With her high proficiency in English and her appetite for new cultures, I believe she will have no issues blending in your programme.

Although already is a talented epidemiologist, Ms. X is eager to develop further in a global health path and wants to use her research skills to improve health system with evidence-based approaches. With all mentioned above, I have no doubt that she will be a great student in your programme and that ABC course would open a door to develop her very promising potentials.

I hope you will positively consider Ms. X application, please feel free to contact me should you need more information.
