Writing Feedback / Writing task 1: the line graph shows the number of enquiries received in one city in 2011 [2]
The given line graph compares the number of enquiries sent to the Tourist Information Office in a city in the first half of 2011.
Overall, the number of enquiries submitted in person and those sent by telephone significantly increased over the six-month period. It is also clear that, the number of enquiries made by letter/email was by far the lowest.
In the first month of 2011, just around 400 enquiries were sent to the Tourist Information office in person. This figure doubled in March, before steeply rose to its peach in June, with 1900 enquiries. The enquiries undertaken by telephone slightly fell from 900 in January to 800 in February. Enquiries by telephone leveled off for the next two months, and saw a similar rising trend to enquiries made in person for the last three months, finally reaching its peak with 1600 enquiries at the end of the period.
Reversely, the number of enquiries made by letter/email saw a gradual decline all of the period. It started with nearly 800 enquiries in January and remained quite stable for the first three months. From March to May, it decreased by half, from 700 to nearly 400, and remained at 400 the same in June.
