(3000 - 3500 characters)MY MOTIVATION LETTER :
Since I was a child, I have always shown great interest in the world of architecture. I have always been fascinated and curious by how it can combine art and science into a wonderful masterpiece, an identity of an era or community. In my eyes, architecture is a multidimensional art form that impacts a lot of sectors : from improving one's living quality till contributing to the sustainability of a city. By pursuing architecture, I can express my ideas while giving significant contributions to the development of my home country. By enrolling as Stipend Hungary awardee, as one of the best scholarships in Hungary, I believe that I will have the chance to do so.
According to the World Bank's prediction in 2019, 70% of Indonesia's population will live in urban areas by 2045. In Jakarta, this increases the demand for housing and commercial buildings, which causes many environmental problems. If we do nothing, sea level rise and flooding will slowly sink the city away, and more people will lose their homes and identities. Hence, architects with an ethical and eco-conscious approach will be a crucial agent to gain the goal of a sustainable city and community. Therefore, I wish to be an architect that focuses on these problems, so the capital city Jakarta can be a more livable place for all of its citizens.
One of the steps that I took to reach my milestones is to educate myself. To make myself more familiar with my future major, I participated in several architecture and design related courses and workshops. I learnt about how to express my ideas by creating different kinds of art. In order to keep up with the technology, I learnt how to operate several design related softwares. Additionally, I also learnt architectural 3D modelling and rendering, second year student's skills, so I can be two steps further than my other fellow classmates when I finally become an architecture student.
During my high school years, I actively participated in several student organisations and volunteer activities. Thanks to that, I was able to meet different kinds of people and learnt how to deal with unexpected situations. I was also given the chance to understand management of events by being a committee member of various school events. On that account, my work ethic and interpersonal skills increase significantly. I could handle working under pressure, managing my packed schedule, and collaborating with multiple individuals.
I believe that Hungary is the best place for me to pursue my degree in architecture. The compact education curriculum and a wide variety of elective courses gives me the opportunity to explore more without wasting my time and energy on loosely related things. Being in the central of Europe, Hungary offers a multicultural education environment and direct exposure to the long-established architecture world, valuable experiences that I may not get in other countries. "Kill two birds with one stone", these reasons make Hungary an ideal place for me to continue my education.
