Grammar, Usage / i need help with writing depth. [3]

we just got our social essays back and my main problem was i didnt have enough depth in mine. our teacher said if we wanted we could redo them but he would only exept them for marks if they were quite a bit better. help i dont get how to apply depth to my essay.
