The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

The first chart displays energy consumption in the average household in Australia, while the second pie chart illustrates the greenhouse gas emissions that come from this energy consumption.

It is clear that heating energy as the primary consumer of energy, with water heating contributing significantly to greenhouse gas emissions.
With australian household energy use, it is apparent that heating account for approximately 42% which is the highest percentage of the pie chart. However, heating only contributes 15% to greenhouse gas emissions and it is nearly half of consumption. In the contrary, the proportion of consumption for cooling is the lowest figure in the chart and it stand at 2%, while it contribute to greenhouse gas emissions with 3%.

The highest percentage of Australian household greenhouse gas emissions is the water heating with 32%, while it ranks next to heating energy and it less than almost 10%. With other appliances, it contributes to greenhouse gas emissions nearly double the amount consumed. Additionally, the energy of refrigeration accounts for 7% the consumotion of the using energy while their emissions stand at 14% of the total.
