Graduate / Data Science Masters - Personal Statement [2]
Hello!
I've mocked up this draft for my personal statement, however I'm not sure this hits the personal statement checklist.
I graduated in 2019 so looking to come back to uni after some time away progressing a career in cyber security.
Looking for feedback and a few tips on how to do a solid conclusion without sounding like I'm repeating myself :)

After graduating from Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in 2019, my career in Cybersecurity has involved various aspects of data analysis. My practical experience working in this area has deepened my desire to shift my focus to data science and ignited a profound enthusiasm for the field. However, it has also highlighted various gaps in my knowledge. To rectify this, I have decided to pursue a master's degree to fill those gaps and position myself for a career in Data Science.
During my undergraduate degree, I covered modules such as Systems Programming, Digital Forensics, and Systems Analysis and Design. These modules taught me about data processes and system management, which sparked my interest in data and how we use it. Since graduating, I have applied these skills, which have accelerated my career.
I currently work as an information security analyst at an international payments fintech, providing security awareness and education to users. In this role, I gather and analyse data to assess the effectiveness of our current training program.
Over the last year, I have demonstrated my commitment to continuous learning by attending webinars and conferences to gain exposure in the data science field. I have strengthened my skills through self-study using the Alex the Analyst Data Analyst Bootcamp. This program has enhanced my proficiency in MySQL, Excel and Python. Additionally, I have spent time broadening my knowledge in Cyber Security, successfully passing two exams: CompTIA Security+ and ISC2 Certified in Cyber Security. This achievement is a testament to my dedication and perseverance in self-improvement.
One module that caught my attention was "Applied AI and Data Mining." The potential of AI and Data Science excites me, as AI is currently a buzzword subject and continues to influence numerous industries. The world of AI extends to Data Science, which plays a crucial role in finance, marketing, and engineering, to name a few. With new AI trends emerging every day, studying artificial intelligence is not only an investment in my future but also in the future itself.
I am thrilled at the prospect of furthering my education at NTU, not only because it was where I completed my bachelor's but also because of the university's constant commitment to progression and improvement across the curriculum. Technological advancements, such as the Hydra AI Supercomputer, highlight NTU's dedication to advancing technology and providing university members the power to enhance their work and research. I am excited about the opportunities offered by the Data Science Masters at Nottingham Trent that will help me acquire the essential skills to help me establish myself in the field of data science.
In addition to my professional career, I am eager to apply data science on smaller side projects related to my hobbies. I am particularly interested in AI advancements in the agriculture sector. By applying data modelling and machine learning skills, I hope to contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable farming practices. This is not only a personal interest but also a way for me to contribute to environmental sustainability through data science.
