Being a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at McGill University would be a pivotal step in my journey, both as a leader and as a change-maker committed to creating lasting social impact.
My passion for driving positive change began when I recognized the transformative power of technology in empowering individuals and communities. Over the years, I've trained over 100 women on using digital tools to enhance their businesses, mentored young girls in STEM education, and organized IT workshops for underprivileged children. These experiences have shown me that true leadership is about inspiring and uplifting others, using your skills to create opportunities for those who need them the most.
Although I didn't initially see myself as a leader, my journey through various roles-culminating in my promotion to center manager-allowed me to grow into this role. I discovered a deep-seated drive to bridge the gender and disability gap in technology and empower women artisans to leverage technology in innovative ways. This evolution in my career reinforced my belief that leadership is about embracing challenges, continuous learning, and having the courage to push beyond one's comfort zone.
