Scholarship / Relationship-building in a professional capacity - Chevening [8]
Relationship-building in a professional capacity is important for the growth and development of individual capability and productivity in any aspect they find themselves. I have consistently demonstrated abilities to establish and maintain relationships in a positive way.
Over the past year, I have successfully fostered strong relationships with interdisciplinary professionals, including laboratory scientists,a pharmacist, and social service providers, while serving as a voluntary official in a private laboratory and consultancy service. Through effective communication and listening, I established trust with patients, gathering insightful feedback on their experiences and concerns. As a key liaison between patients and officials, I facilitated open dialogue, ensuring seamless information exchange and tailored support. By actively seeking feedback and providing personalized guidance, I empowered patients to take proactive steps in preventing future health issues, demonstrating my ability to build a positive approach and drive positive outcomes through collaborative relationships.
I actively participated in seminars, a workshop and a national conference where I engaged myself with peers, mentors and leaders. In the national conference in 2022, I connected with the national association president in Physiology as well as the head of the department of the university of Bayero University Kano as at then. Through this I gained insights, influence and potential collaborations with them in many areas concerned with health benefits, relationships and building connections.
I volunteer as a mentor for a career building initiative for students below my class level. This particular experience gave me the ability to influence their thoughts and decisions regarding their course of study and where they can apply it. This has helped me with an emphatic relationship with them and also created a constructive ability to provide them with relevant feedback where possible. @Holt
