Writing Feedback / (IELTS WRITING TASK 1) ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN USA [3]

I would like you to play with the words, albeit sentences. Your writing would give you a solid 6.5.

The line graph details the energy utilization in the country of the US from projections to 2030 of the six fuel types: petrol and oils, coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower. Overall, all sorts of fuel consumption fluctuated with an upward trend with the exception of Hydropower. Fossil fuels were generally consumed more than the other types of fuel.

The line graph details the energy consumption of the US from 1980 to 2008 while projecting the utilisation of energy till 2030. Overall, fossil fuels have dominated the energy consumption, while renewable energy has shown a slight increase in proportion to energy use; however, it stays stable and is projected to do so.

Note: I am not perfect; this is just a suggestion. I suggest to get you vocabulary for upward trends, downward trends, comparisons, descriptions for IELTS Task 1 and Task 2; it helped me to prepare for my IELTS exam.

Scholarship / Biotechnology - MAECI SCHOLARSHIP SIENA AND PAVIA [3]

I formally request guidance from other students on this platform. I am applying for the MAECI scholarship; my preferred university is Pavia. However, its fourth intake will open later after the submission of the scholarship application. I have already mentioned it in the motivational letter, and I also mentioned that my final result is still waiting; I mentioned the CGPA of overall 7 semesters.

To the MAECI Scholarship Committee,
As a biotechnology undergraduate with a CGPA of 3.52 out of 7 semesters (final transcript pending), committed to advancing molecular research in human health, I am eager to pursue my graduate studies in Italy, renowned for its legacy of scientific excellence and innovation. I am currently preparing my application for the master's programme in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Pavia, whose interdisciplinary and research-intensive approach resonates strongly with my academic and professional goals. In parallel, I am also applying to the Medical Biotechnologies programme at the University of Siena, which offers a compelling focus on translational and therapeutic biotechnologies. With this application, I seek the support of the MAECI scholarship to undertake postgraduate education that will empower me to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research and strengthen international scientific collaboration.

Throughout my undergraduate studies in biotechnology, I have cultivated a strong foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry, and analytical techniques. My academic training combined theoretical knowledge with practical experience in solvent-solvent extraction, phytochemical and chemical analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, rotary evaporation, and chromatography. My undergraduate thesis, titled "I removed the name of my thesis for copyright reasons", allowed me to hone my laboratory precision, problem-solving ability, and scientific writing. While the research topic was assigned, I strategically selected a supervisor who emphasised rigorous methodology and academic integrity. This experience refined my skills in literature review, data interpretation, and independent project management, skills which are now central to my ambition of contributing to molecular research in healthcare and drug development. However, I would like to mention that the result of my final semester is still waiting, and to prove the completion of my degree, I have uploaded a bona fide certificate.

The interdisciplinary nature of my training has guided me toward graduate programmes that integrate advanced molecular techniques with data-driven approaches to life sciences. The Molecular and Digital Biology curriculum at the University of Pavia resonates deeply with my aspiration to work at the intersection of molecular biology and computational analysis. Courses such as Bioinformatics, Pharmacogenomics and Cancer Genomics, and Laboratory of Advanced Bioinformatics for Omics Sciences offer precisely the methodological depth and analytical training I seek. Equally compelling is the University of Siena's MSc programme in Medical Biotechnologies, where both tracks, Metabolic Diseases and Oncology and Microbiology, Immunity and Infection Control, reflect critical healthcare challenges. I am particularly drawn to modules such as Genetics and Epigenetics of Cancer, Genome Editing and Synthetic Biology, and Anti-infective Drugs and the One Health Approach, which align with my growing interest in precision medicine and translational research. Both programmes offer the rigorous academic environment and research exposure necessary to advance my scientific ambitions.

Pursuing my education in Italy represents not just an academic ambition but a deeply personal aspiration to grow within a country that harmonises scientific innovation with cultural richness. However, despite a background of modest financial stability, the cost of international education remains a significant barrier. The MAECI scholarship would be a transformative opportunity, allowing me to access world-class training without burdening my family and to fully dedicate myself to my academic and professional development. Italy's longstanding tradition of welcoming international scholars, along with its emphasis on community, history, and excellence, makes it the ideal environment for me to thrive. Being selected for this scholarship would not only affirm my potential but also enable me to give back as a future scientist committed to international collaboration and innovation.

Yours sincerely,
