Good Old Summer Vacation

Exams had just finished, it was the year of 2007, and the air reeked of summer vacation. Summer days and nights were always spent with David, Ahmad, and the rest of the guys. We always seemed to have fun, never a single dull moment. We were, as you could say, enjoying the summer break to its fullest. My friends and I developed so many inside jokes and till this day, we look back at those moments and laugh.

It was during one summers evening that my friends and I were heading out to catch a movie. One of my friends, Ahmad, was hungry and decided to go grab a bite to eat before the movie began. Sadly, no one else but him wanted to eat, which resulted with him having to go alone, until I decided to tag along too. Our destination of choice, being also the closest, was Burger King. After nearly ten minutes of driving, we arrived in front of the red sign that read Burger King in enormous sized letters.

We hopped out of the car and walked into the room that was filled with the smell of fries and burgers. Inside, there was a small line up which we had to wait in. The wait was not that long and we ended up ordering our meals at a fairly fast pace. Right after we ordered the meals, and waited at the counter, I began to blurt out some random thoughts from my head. "I have a feeling the burgers are going to be fresh," I said. Following my random sentence, I preceded onto another. "I have a feeling Vicky is going to dump me," I said in an awkward tone. Once we received our meals, we walked over to a table so we could sit down and eat. After taking a bite into his giant whopper, Ahmad looked at me in confusion and wonder. "The burgers are fresh, which means that Vicky dumping you will be true as well," he said as he laughed.

I continued to laugh with him, but I knew he had something else on his mind as well. "How do you break up with someone?" he pondered. I gave him an odd look, before replying to his question. "Well, it would be something like this..."After pausing for a brief moment, as I was distracted by an elderly man; who was standing by our table awaiting to make an order. I continued to explain. "I don't think we should see each other anymore," my friend wondered. "Why not?" as I questioned my friend. The elderly man was staring at the both of us in an odd way while ignoring his order. Then he abruptly exited Burger King. Ahmad and I began to laugh at the misunderstanding that just occurred. After all that, we finished our meals then left the Burger King.

A week later, at around three in the morning, me, Ahmad and David drove to Mcdonalds to grab some food (since it was the only place open twenty-four seven). We went through the drive through and gave our orders. They don't call it fast food for nothing. After driving by the window, and picking up our orders, we parked inside the parking lot and started eating. I peered through the inside window of Mcdonalds and notice someone mopping the floor. I stopped eating and yelled out. "Is that Ron Jeremy!?" The person mopping looked exactly like him! Ahmad looked and me, then the man, and started laughing. All in this while David had no idea who Ron Jeremy was and questioned. "Who the hell is Ron Jeremy?" Ahmad and I started laughing, until we ran out of breath and decided to give David an answer. "Look him up; Ron Jeremy is famous for a lot of things." "He is probably also a Chinese god to you." After laughing for a good ten minutes, we finished our savory burgers and headed on home. Ahmad and I remembered this evening for many weeks and months after summer had finished. Still to this day we reflect back on the good times we had that summer, and how many times we laughed until we couldn't breathe. The friends, the memories, the good times, they will always remain with me my whole life.
